Santa Fe Habitat welcomes any women who would like to participate in this event or men who want to celebrate the power of #womenwhobuild on May 20th, and the 23rd-25th 2023 from 8:30 AM-3:30 PM.

Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to Sweat Hard and Shine Bright as they take a proactive step in serving the Santa Fe community.

Any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us. No experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved and improves the community that you share.

Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly.

If you have not already, please create a Volunteer Profile with us by clicking “New Volunteer Registration” at the top of the page linked above. If you already have a profile, simply log in. Once logged in, the Volunteer Opportunities Calendar will appear. On the date of the build (May 20th, 23rd, 24th or 25th), check the box and click “Sign Up.” On the following page, confirm the volunteer date and click “Schedule Only Me.” You are now registered to volunteer for this Women Build Event.

Things to wear or bring:

• Old/comfortable work clothes
• Closed-toed shoes
• Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
• Water bottle
• Lots of layers for the fast-changing weather
• A mask to wear if working indoors

Schedule:

• 8:30AM Building Begins
• 10:30 Break
• 12 PM-1 PM Lunch Hour (Lunch will be provided)
• 3:30 PM Build Day Ends

All volunteers will meet at 8:30 AM at the our build site in the Plaza Bonita Subdivision.
